The Remedy to: "If Only..."

Some of us can be positively paralyzed or tormented by mistakes we've made in the past, maybe even decades ago. Good golly, beloved, please stop! It's stealing your peace and joy and hindering your usefulness to God and others. Indeed, if you'd known better, you would have done better. Indeed, there were reasons. Jesus knows.

Jesus didn't die so we could have eternal torment but rather eternal, abundant life!

Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, (Romans 8:1)

Plus, we can't undo it, so it's downright illogical. But there's good news and great hope in God's forgiveness:

"Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord..." (Acts 3:19, NIV)

It says, "Refreshing!" God can restore our losses and even use our mistakes for our good and the good of others (Romans 8:28). He specializes in new beginnings.

Ask for and receive Christ's forgiveness, learn the lesson for next time, and let it go. Move onward and upward into abundant life and God's purpose for you.

(And if you currently do know better and it's chronic, dear one, get some help with that cuz it's harming and hindering you...and maybe others.)

PRAYER: Jesus, thank you for liberating us from slavery to sin and eternal death. Help us ask for and receive your forgiveness so we can live free to be who you want us to be! Amen. Thank you. I love you.
