Perfect peace? With everything going on in the world, down the street, in our lives, bodies, hearts, and minds?
Only the God of the Universe can make such an extravagant promise.
It’s a surpassing peace that transcends circumstances. In fact, it’s a peace that is magnified by our powerlessness because we’ve finally come to rest solely in Him.
There are conditions. Our thoughts and eyes must be fixed on Him. “Fixed” is a permanent state of affairs. 24/7.
“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” Jesus, John 14:27
“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” Jesus, John 16:33
